Popular healing culture will give you advice to use your mental will to overcome fear. Applied generally and without grounded understanding, this is advice that is in opposition to our human nature, dissociating us from our own body wisdom. The clearest and deepest empowerment is rather to be 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 with the life force energy wisdom arising in each moment, gaining skills of navigating life without rejecting any part of your experience, as much as possible. Because when we reject our experience, it doesn’t just go away, it goes into the shadow, ready to pop up again in the most inopportune moments—which are really enforced opportunities for it to be resolved.
What we are meant to do with fear, as a body energy wisdom, is to honor its presence in our life when it comes up, with support as needed. We are meant to ground fear as a life force energy in our body experience, to be alive 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 it. Because, fear, as a body energy wisdom, is meant to 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘦 us to our instincts—our body’s natural intelligence. It is meant to then awaken and develop our skills of being a dancer of life, of being a warrior of life, in connection with spirit. That is empowerment: finding power within one’s feeling of powerlessness, through the ground, our bodies—that gives us access to our spiritual humanity, the part of us that already knows how to nurture connection to wholeness—the art of being human.
